So I got in to the Carnegie Mellon University through Early Decision with a Statistics major, so I am required to withdraw all applications to other universities. But I'm really worried about my grades. There has been an extreme downward trend in grades in my sophomore and junior years (and now senior year), which I will list out below:
*Sophomore year sem1:
PE - A
AP Chemistry - A
Chinese 3 - A
English Honors - A
Precalculus Honors - A
World History Honors - B
*Sophomore year sem2:
PE - A
AP Chemistry - A
Chinese 3 - A
English Honors - A
Precalculus Honors - A
World History Honors - A
*Junior year sem1:
AP Calculus BC - B
AP Physics B - B
AP Statistics - B
U.S. History - A
English - A
Chinese 4 - A
*Junior year sem2:
AP Calculus BC - C
AP Physics B - B
AP Statistics - B
U.S. History - A
English - A
Chinese 4 - B

Carnegie Mellon accepted me after seeing those grades. This year, the worst case scenario for me, for both semesters of senior year, are:
Government/Economics - B
English - B
AP Psychology - B
AP Computer Science - C
AP Environmental Science - B
Sculpture/Ceramics - A

Will they rescind me if I get those grades? I've been paranoid of that happening ever since I've gotten my acceptance letter. If they rescind me, I'd be basically screwed because I will have withdrawn all other apps by then and there will be no other college to turn to. I'm actually trying really hard this semester, but for some reason my grades aren't going up.......

Also, two other, smaller, questions (not as important):
1) Because my dad wanted me to, I applied early to 9 schools (1 ED, 8 EA). But I heard that if CMU sees that, they might think CMU wasn't like a super high priority for me and might get offended and rescind me? Is this true?
2) Do I have to withdraw applications from ALL schools, including the ones where I started an app, or sent a transcript or test scores, but never fully completed the applications? If I don't, will CMU rescind me if they find out?

Really? Do you know the minimum grades I need to maintain so that I don’ get rescinded?
I’m not aiming for the minimum (of course), but it’d be reassuring to know that I’m not close to the edge or something…

I haven’t applied for financial aid, and in my admission letter, it says:
"For the remainder of the year, we know you will maintain the same level of academic performance and
good citizenship which has resulted in your acceptance to Carnegie Mellon. In our application materials,
you will find a Candidate Mid-Year High School Grade Report. Ask your guidance counselor to complete
and return this form to our office after mid-year grades are reported in February. We will send a request for
final grades and high school graduation confirmation in late May. "

You will not get rescinded for Bs and a few Cs. Avoid Ds and Fs and you should be fine.

LOL CMU will not rescind you because you applied to a bunch of EA schools, of course, as long as none of those schools were binding (ex. Princeton, Stanford, Harvard).

You must withdraw ALL applications ONLY after you confirm that your financial aid package is good enough for you to actually attend the institution.

Anyway, congrats on CMU and don’t let senioritis get the best of you!

Well, those conditions are vague. Your scenario of getting mostly B grades with one A and one C is probably cutting it close – some significantly less selective schools (most of the UCs) explicitly specify that the minimum senior year academic performance is a 3.0 GPA in the previously-reported in-progress course work, with no D or F grades.

Thanks for the help, guys, but it seems like I’m getting contradicting answers? Am I safe with those senior grades, or am I cutting it close?

@StevenToCollege I applied to Georgia Tech, University of Michigan, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, Indiana University Bloomington, Purdue University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Denver, and Drexel University.
