Thank you for your application for admission to Virginia Tech. The Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and based in part on the fact that you applied into one of our most competitive majors we have deferred your candidacy to the regular applicant pool. This decision is not a denial of admission. We simply wish to evaluate your application again after reviewing additional academic information (such as fall semester grades and/or new standardized test scores).
Your current application will receive unbiased consideration in competition with other applicants under the regular admission process. Applicants are not penalized in any way when they are deferred. You do not have to submit an additional application. You will be notified of the action taken on your application by April 1, 2014. Please contact us if
further assistance is needed.
