early decision

UIUC has no early decision or rolling decision program?

UIUC has rolling admissions, so you'll get a decision as soon as they make one. If it's your safety school, you should be accepted in less than a month, while borderline applicants may have to wait until April.

They do have a priority filing period from 9/15 through 11/15. There is also a note saying that "applications completed within the priority filing period may have an advantage when space is limited."

Does it mean that I will have a lesser chance of being admitted to the Business school if I file after Nov 15?

"Does it mean that I will have a lesser chance of being admitted to the Business school if I file after Nov 15?"

Yes, to some degree.

Also, as to the original post, UIUC has psuedo rolling admissions. As applications are received a number will be promptly admitted, others may take a month and many may have to wait until late January or early February for a decision. What happens is that the colleges, particularly business and engineering, often sit on a lot of their applications until they know what the total applicant pool looks like so they can compare applicants better.

Thanks for the clarification. The pseudo-rolling scheme you described is really not that unusual though.

So if I am not a clear admit case, it really wouldn't hurt me if I file after the priority period as the adcoms are most likely to sit on my case until they've seen the bulk of the application pool.
