I was recently at one of the campus tours, and I was told that there is something like a "second" early decision application where if you dont get into your first e.d. chocie, lafayette allows itself to be your second top choice. can anyone varify this or conversly prove that I have hearing impairments =)

Thank you!

SweetComedyGirl,

Allow me to assure you that you do not have a hearing impairment of any kind!

Starting November 1st, you may apply to Lafayette ED. Admissions decisions are made and sent out about thirty days after receipt of an ED application. Up until January 1st, you may still apply ED.

Here is what I believe to be the source of your confusion:

If, after applying RD by January 1st, you change your mind and believe Lafayette is your first choice school (or Lafayette "becomes" your first choice school after being rejected/deferred ED from UPenn), you may convert your RD application to ED status by February 15th with a call to the Admissions Office. However, you will still receive your admissions decision letter by the RD decision date (April 1st).

For more information on Lafayette's ED policy, please visit: http://www.lafayette.edu/admissions/early_decision.html.
