early decison?

how much easier it to get into GW if you apply early decision

bumppppppp

yea... 60% where as if regular is around 35%
with early D anyone can get in. basically. GW actually want early d options for all peopl thats why they have early 1 and early 2!
really if you want to get in do early 1 you will get in even if your stats dont match

I don't want anyone to be misled and be set up for disappointment by thinking "anyone can get in" to GW if they apply ED. That is just not true. I know people at our school who were rejected ED. Their stats were just too low. Yes, it it definitely easier to be accepted ED, but chico123's statements are a vast exaggeration. GW does holistic admissions and will take the time with their ED applicants to really review the total person and their fit with GW and give a little more leeway with ED applicants stats if other aspects of the application are strong.

I know people who were also rejected ED. Anyone cannot get in, total exaggeration! Keep your grades up, show a sincere interest and you will have a good chance. I do believe GW looks at the whole student and not just the test scores. But, admission is still competitive, IMO.

chico your comments were rediculous, irresponsible and certainly misleading. 60% NO WAY! Anyone can get in! Rediculous again....plesae back up your statements with some facts please.
I know about six kids who applied early, 2 got in and 4 rejected. OF the 4, two had over 2000 SAT's and high GPA'S adn that is a tiny fraction of the students who did not get in.
Competition to GW is more competitive than ever, slightly higher chances to get in ED yes, but its still tough.

ctmomof3, i just looked it up and found that chico123 had some truth in that the acceptance rate for ED was 63% in 2007. That being said, maybe Chico was being a little extreem. Thanks for all of the comments though

I think the reason the acceptance rate is higher ED is that people generally apply ED to schools where they know are a fit, not a stretch. Since not all qualified candidates can get into the school of their choice, ED simply shows greater interest and commitment, and lets them be properly evaluated. GW is definitely a school where people who are passionate about politics, journalism, etc, are very, very happy. I think that's the deal here. I highly doubt a candidate with just average boards and GPA has a shot, no matter what.
