Hi. im a CCC student with a 3.48 gpa, a double major in poli sci and philosophy, and ive completed 51 units with 9 more to go. Ive done internship at a law office and 200 hours of volunteer work, finally im a part of AGS and will be igetc certified.I was just wondering what my chances would be to get into either UCLA or USC?

USC is easier to get into in general.

u think its possible to get into usc poli sci major with that gpa?

You need to pick political science or philosophy.

poli sci is my first choice

USC, hands down. Especially if you can afford the tuition.

I would go to UCLA (personally because I wouldn't have to pay a cent), but if I don't get admitted, I'll settle for USC.

USC entering class profile for 2005-2006

University of Second Choice. huh!

WHOA! ONLY 22% Asians at USC? And they group Indians as Asians so it could be around 11%? I was expecting more Asians than that. I wonder why it is so low. Maybe more get in as transfers? I don't know.

my high school is on there. Peninsula i know about 10 who got in there this year.

Sandkicks you went to PVP?

USC mostly has those preppy blond girls that have their daddy pay tuition.

Generally USC is easier to get into, one of the reasons being that it is a PRIVATE university and usually transfering to UC's is more difficult because their ongoing specifications about what you have to have before considering applying.

USC, on the other hand, will do anything to meet with you and see what units will transfer (most of them do).

Remember that (and this is with no offense to anyone who goes to USC, hell I would love to go there) USC is a private school that wants a lot of your money and a little of your brain. Stanford, another private school, wants a lot of your money and a lot of your brains (hence, multiple recommendations and so on..)

Good Luck.

yeah Kevin i went to PVPHS. Why did you go there.

i agree with swangirl i know a few people who got in there cause of their money. look at kristin on laguna beach. hahahaha lol

USC's not worth it in terms of grad school prospects beyond their own programs.

I'd say go to UCLA all the way, earn your grades and go to a great grad school.

USC's not worth it in terms of grad school prospects beyond their own programs.

What do you mean ???

WOW you're totally mistaken. USC is known for its great networking. I would love to go to any [well not any] SC gradschool.

USC grad schools are in the top 15, no?

Exactly kevintech, great networking towards for their own grad school programs. Please don't dare to say that USC offers better grad school prospects than its crosstown rival.
