Hi guys, was wondering. Since UT admits based on what major you pick. What’s the easiest? I’m interested in Economics and anyone can transfer to that degree once you’re in the college. I was thinking of choosing English? Or is Biology or something a better major to click for admission? I’m not auto admit.
Sorry I probably should have named this threat something else but I am genuinely interested in Liberal Arts and would be happy doing it for four years.
I don’t know what major at UT is the LEAST competitive, but it’s not biology. I believe that’s one of the more popular majors at UT. But, I think all majors at UT are fairly competitive.
A word of caution though… try not to think of it as"what can I do for 4 years. " Instead, you will be better served by thinking of what path you hope to take after college and trying for a major that leads you towards that goal.
Your choice of major needs to match what you’ve shown strength in as a HS student
What foreign language are you studying? Do you have 3-4 years of it?
Have you taken History APs?
If the economics major is non-selective for students changing into it, is there any reason to believe that it is more selective than other majors for frosh admission?
