Easiest College / Major at Cornell?

I just finished applying to AEM at CALS which is a pretty selective major. I was just wondering which college / major is the easiest to get into at Cornell?

Just think about it logically for a second...the major that is easiest to get into is the one that fits your interests best. There are probably people at Cornell 100 times smarter than you (no offense) who wouldn't get into AEM because they're better fits for something else. Someone who interns at a Vet's office, has spent years doing animal research, and has worked at the horse stables since she was 10 might be a shoe-in for Animal Science (assuming she has good grades and all that) but might not get into Communications.

If you want to talk strictly about acceptance rates, HumEc has the highest freshman acceptance rate (although apparently it's super-selective this year, someone posted that her coach at Cornell said it would be easier to get an athlete in at AEM than HumEc this year...weird) and ILR has the highest transfer rate (but that's probably cause of GT's).

Just to reiterate, though: No school is "easy" to get in to. If a person is within the correct range numerically, AND they have the best fit as demonstrated by activities, then that person has the best likelihood of getting into that specific program. Fit is extremely important.

I think the OP probably knows that Cornell is not "easy" to get into. Stargazerlilies is spot on with his/her post.

I think the OP's question is meant to be something along the lines of, "which college/major within Cornell has statisically the highest average acceptance rate?" Disregarding fit/ variety of other factors, which school has the highest rate of acceptance.

Engineering.

Gender and Women's Studies. (Arts and Sciences)

Just agree with your professor as she decries the evil phallus dominance of our society.

Heh, I had to make that joke. (Am I joking? ....)

No, really, think about what stargazer said. Your favorite class in highschool is likely where you perform the best...and it's likely the class you say is the "easiest" OR it is likely to be the class you have the most fun in (challenge and all).

That doesn't change in college.

Oh, Engineering has the highest acceptance rate? I always thought it was HumanEc, guess not. That really shows Cornell is all about fit. Engineering is not an easy subject, and even though statistically it has the highest acceptance, it's hardly easy to get into. If you're not passionate about Engineering, good luck getting in.
LOL @ women's studies...sooner or later, some uber masculine femi-nazi is gonna come and flame you...and me too, I expect.

How dare you talk about women's studies in THAT fashion. Women are of extreme importance in society. You mocking them proves that women's studies NEEDS to be a NECESSARY subject to EVERY SINGLE PERSON because it teaches them important things in every aspect of life. Your own ignorance, your own idiotic views of nature may be fine and dandy in HS or even in your own college (if you get accepted there with your attitude) but in life-- if you can't learn to respect women and see that there's more than your super narrow, defined world-view you are bound to have some serious problems. It shows that neither can you respect women, you can't even learn about them for learning's sake--if you're on the Cornell boards you must at least be interested in a variety of different subjects. Why can't women's studies be one of them? Its because your narrow, society-defined outlook/world-view makes you a COMPLETE moron.

jk--I thought it would be fun to be angry!

Last year HumanEc's acceptance rate was higher than Engineerings

Ahahah, I got it at the second capitalized word...lol.
