Easiest to improve

I am not a great test taker, and I NEED to get a 28 composite.

My June scores were:

Math-27 (used the Barrons book to raise my score by 4 points).
Reading- 28 (not much prep)
English- 24
Science-22

essay-10

Composite: 25

Does anyone know the easiest and best way to raise my score to a 28?

I have:
1.The red book (but I have done 2 of the tests).
2. The Princeton Review book
3. The Barrons book

any advice would be appreciated.

when doing the reading and science read the questions before the passages/charts

It's looks like you're having difficulty with science and english. From my experience, english is the easier score to raise -- so I would concentrate that if you're looking for a 28. You obviously have a handle of reading (although it could also be improved), so work on those two subjects and it'll raise your composite. If you go through the PR/Real ACT, you should be able to figure out EXACTLY what they test for both the english and reading. I would definitely recommend getting the Real ACT Guide because it has 3 full length prc tests + explanation for each answer. It's really great for the english/eeading, because they test the same grammar and usage every year.. (although that's probably true for all subjects). If you raise your reading/english both to a 30, and get a point somewhere else, you'll have a 28. Raising those scores with some prep should be cake.

Where exactly can you get ahold of one of these books saint?

www.amazon.com they have the PR and real guides

English is very easy to raise.
Just remember - always go for the CONCISE answer. Shorter = better if they're correct.
Take some practice tests and remember the grammar errors, etc. you made.

Science - go directly to the questions and look at the charts from there. Reading the passages only if needed.

25 to 28 is definitely obtainable. You're basically there in two sections. Work through practice material and try new strategies if the old ones aren't producing the scores you need. If you put in the time w/this, I'll be surprised if you don't get a 28 or higher.

would you say that a 27 to a 31 is obtainable?

Sure - use some of your free summer time to prep. My guess is that most of y'all won't have as much free time in the fall.

Yeah, they should have all of those prep books on Amazon, but if you don't want to use that, you'll definitely find them at your local bookstore (Barnes, Borders, or whatever). I would also suggest going to some discount bookstore, if your area has them. I got my AP prep books and ACT prep books from Halfprice, where they were about 5 bucks a piece and in perfect condition.
