How to improve?

I took ACT for the first time in June and got a 26 composite: writing 27 with essay, 27 math, and 24 on both reading and science. I am running out of practice materials so how can i improve to raise my score to at least a 29?

What book(s) were you using for practice? How are you doing on your current practice tests? I recommend the Real ACT book, and the two tests you can order for $5 each from the ACT website.

im using the real act and princeton books..but the results are all about the same about 26 or 27.

Try improving your reading section first, since it's easier to improve than science. Keep working on practice tests and questions, and learn from the mistakes you make. If you have extra time after you finish the section/passage, go back and check your answers by finding "evidence" to defend them in the reading passage. The ACT tries to trip students up by throwing in possibilities that sound vageuly correct, but are not. English is another section that should be easy to improve, unless you do better with math/sciences. The only thing I can suggest is practice, since you've got the two best prep books for the ACT imho.
