i was just wondering how people who live all the way on the east coast that went to west coast schools felt about such a displacement. Was there a big culture shock? Were the people horribly different? Did you love it? Hate it? Also mention what school you go/went to and where on the east coast you live.

What about West Coast to East Coast?

I haven't gone to school in the West Coast but I've been a few times. My one comment is: It's hilly.

Besides that it's not all that different culture wise.

I've always wondered this too. Most people I've met from the West Coast are laid back. I remember I had this one Physics teacher who was from Washington and this relaxed and laid back attitude was so funny at times. You would see him get mad at the class but with his laid back attitude no one could take it serious. That's not to say he was a bad teacher either. He was an awesome guy, but that's been my experience with most people from the West coast. They're just laid back. The other day I was watching a Mets game and the announcers were talking about fans in LA and how they leave before half the game is over and even when their team is winning there's no real competition between the fans. It's like they're there, but it's like 'eehhhh' for them. I don't know. It's weird. I've always wanted to go to the west coast just to see what it's like. I'm sure if you've lived your life in a city like NYC or Boston that it would be a different kind of atmosphere going to any of the cities out west. How different? That's what I don't know.

well it's not THAT different, but yes, people on the West Coast are more "chill" and laid back, which is nice and all, but some of them have the gayest vocabulary, which includes "words" like "hella" and "hyphy".

hahaha yea that word 'hella' is just funny to hear. when i first heard it, i was like huh? then i was explained that it's the equivalent of using 'mad' out on the east coast. i thought that was funny though. i actually pointed someone out when i heard her use the word 'hella'. What does 'hyphy' mean? What's the east coast equivalent of that word?

Seriously the West Coast isn't that different from the East Coast. The South however, is a different story.

hyphy is the equivalent of crunk, only infinitely more retarded. Not to hate on you "norcal" natives, but *** honestly? Crunk sounds much more cooler, and no one is ever going to confuse "crunk" w/ the reproductive structures of fungi.

I'm from oakland, CA. Hella means like a whole lot. “I was hella ****ed” or “He spends hella time on cc.”

Hyphy is a form of bay area hip hop fusion. lots of great rappers are from out here. Dude, crunk is weakass.
