I am studying macro and micro econ right now, and want to take one more subject.
Since I am in grade 10, I don’t really have strong knowledge about science subjects since they need to be learned from the basis till the end. I only take physics in school, and they are just basis so I won’t be able to take AP physics.
What subjects do you recommend me to study for 3 months so that I can score 5? Any subjects please?
I am planning to study Eng education in college or physics.
I wanted to take Eng lit&composition or lang&composition, but it seems like essay requires reading lots of literature, and since I am not a native eng speaker, it is not easy for me to read tens of literature in 3 months.
What else can I take?
Psych
Psych, environmental science, world and european history
I would disagree (respectfully :D) with @nyuhopeful44 about AP World History being a quick study. It took a lot of time and even the top students in my grade (at a top 20 high school) got 4s. It requires a large-scale world view, lots of background knowledge, and really good essay writing skills. If you are not a native English speaker, then I wouldn’t suggest that it would be for you – or AP Euro, for that matter. Try Human Geography, Psychology, Economics, or Environmental Earth Science – they would be better fits. Best of luck (and PM me if you have any questions about AP World History, European History, English Language or English Literature)
Psych, Environmental Science, and Human Geography are known as the easiest APs to self study.
Biology. The multiple choice mostly critical reading and analyzing. Basic memorization is needed for the open ended
@Brajia Disagree with that, taking AP Bio right now, and there is a LOT of memorization that is not really basic at all- it is definetly not a course that one can self-study in 3 months and you need to know a lot of the material going into the exam. The open ended questions require not only memorization, but tons of analysis that would be hard to figure out in 3 months.
@blue1artic the AP bio course requires a lot of memorization. The test does not. If you are good at critical reading and can study the basics from a prep book you are fine. The opened ended is direct and doesn’t require a ton of analysis. It would only seem hard if you don’t know the material well. Most people I know that got a 5 did very little studying. They were also the same people with high cr scores (just my observation). I practically memorized my prep book word from word and got a 4 simply because I suck at critical reading. Most of the multiple choice requires 0 memorization and just critical thinking, which means anyone who is good at analyzing reading quickly and answering questions can easily do well on the mc. This is NOT a skill acquired in a biology course. it’s a skill people tend to have or not have.
