Which AP classes would be easiest to study independently? I know that you should only self study for classes you’re actually interested in, but I wanted to experience independent self studying as well as see if I can handle an easy class before trying a harder one.
I’ve already done the following at school:
Human geography
Art history
Statistics
I tentatively plan on doing the following:
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
English language
English literature
Calculus AB
Calculus BC
Psychology
Environmental science
Government and politics (US and Comparitive are combined into one year)
The easiest tests to study independently are AP Psych, AP Environmental, and AP Government (if you have prior APUSH knowledge or interest in politics). If you are good writer and critical reader, AP English Language shouldn’t be too hard, but I generally advise against preparing for the course without a good teacher.
Out of your list, the hardest one to self-study is Calculus BC and/or the English APs if you aren’t an avid reader or writer.
Sure - if you speak a foreign language fluently, those AP exams are a piece of cake. If you’ve studied a musical instrument for years, Music Theory is a breeze.
