Econ 100a and Econ 1

How similar are the two? I've read some comments on CC saying Econ 100A is pretty much a review of Econ1... but a lot have said that econ 100a is 10x harder than econ1... any experience?

I'm planning to take econ100a next summer and declare then, but do you think having a year break from econ will cause me to forget stuff :/? Thanks!

It’s completely different from Econ 1, and much harder. You use a lot of calculus.

You really don’t need to remember anything from Econ. 1. They go over the material again, but at a much slower pace and much more in-depth with a lot more new concepts.

So I should just take econ 100a over the summer then? I kind of want to postpone it since it’ll be much easier then lol. Are you taking econ 100a right now Ankur?

Econ 1 covers everything from micro to macro with a broad stroke. Econ 100a (micro, I believe) coves microeconomics and will be much more in-depth.

Do you guys have any recommendation? I’ve heard that a lot of people favor Train over Acland?
