This is my current schedule that I've just changed. I'm wondering if I should add Econ 101L. The class applies the theories learned in Econ 101H to real world problems. Here is my current schedule:

Econ 101H MWF 1:10-2
Eng 250H MWF 10-10:50
Honors Seminar TR 10-10:50
Int'l Studies TR 2:10-3:25
College Seminar R 8:10-9:50
Scholarship Seminar W 2:10-3
Intro to Soc MWF 11-11:50

Econ 101L M 3:10-5

I currently have 15 credits and will have 16 if I add Econ 101L. The seminars that I have to take are more like "Let us show you how to use our resources" more than anything so it won't be that hard. Plus, my College Seminars are done after the middle of Oct. If it matters, I did sign up to work for my university's dinning system although I don't know if I will be hired yet. (I also am super happy that I don't have class till 10 [!] until Thursdays and I won't have class until 10 when winter comes!)

I was wondering if it'll be a good idea to take Econ 101L. I did take one econ class in high school -it was somewhat interesting, but I can't really tell if I liked the material or the fact that my teacher gave us coupons for free iced coffee at Panera Bread. :-/

I also tried to take a wide varity of courses because I'm still undecided. I am planning on taking a Comp Sci & Enviromental Studies course next semester too.

Are you in LAS or are those seminars part of the Honors program? Just asking b/c nobody I know here has taken them.

I took Econ 101 without a lab and thought it was good enough. Who do you have for Soc?

I have SCHWEINGRUBER, D for Soc.

I have to take one seminar for a scholarship I received, and my adviser says I have to take the LAS seminar (yes I'm in LAS :) ). I also have to take the honors seminar for the honors program.

So you think Econ101 L wouldn't be that great of an idea?

The only people I know who have taken the lab section are either straight-up Economics majors or Ag Business (a division of the Econ dept) majors. Nobody else I know took a lab, FWIW.

I had Schweingruber freshman year. Got a D-. GO TO HIS CLASS!! I got in the habit of going to my opening work shift (5:45-9am!) and then taking a nap and sleeping through Soc 134, and I always forgot about the online work. I went to maybe 1/3 of the lectures. Like 2 questions on every test are from the book, everything else is lecture. Talks about his kids a lot. Don't miss any of the online hmwk (there's 10 or so) and if the project is a cakewalk. Needless to say, I'm retaking the class this year with a different prof. :)

With Schweingruber, you'll also spend like 2 weeks talking about riots during VEISHEA, and watch some cool videos on the VEISHEA riots of 2005.

LoL thanks for the heads up :). If most of the questions are from his lectures, does he put them on power point or something? Or should I just try to put key ideas down?

Yeah he runs a slide show. I can't remember if he posts them online or not, but he doesn't go super fast so you should be okay. The only downside to Schweingruber and Krier (the other MWF guy) are that their class is just lecture. The prof I have this year has lecture once a week with everyone and smaller (<20 I think) discussion sections led by TAs on the other two days. I've had more success in these type of classes, but haven't had too many of them either.
