Will you guys be doing any type of brushing up before transferring? To be honest, I took both macro and micro econ my first semester so most of it is all a blur to me now, even though I got an A in both classes. Do any of you see this as a potential problem? Are most other econ transfer in the same predicament?

It worries me because, especially for Berkeley and LA, you have to take one or two upper level classes (and do well in them) before being admitted to the major.

idk about UCLA, but i was talking to the UCB rep about this, and she said if your pre-econ you only need a 2.0 for all the classes you take during your first semester, and if ur able to achieve that then ur in…only those who ARENT econ majors, that are trying to get into econ (which is a “capped” major) have to do really well to be admitted. hope that helps :)

I think you should pick up a intermediate micro text book off amazon. You can buy $120 textbooks for like $7 used. Read the consumer theory stuff. Thats what we will be doing in Econ 11.

For example, check this out:
[List of Links - ECON 11](<a href=“Social Sciences Classes Archive”>Social Sciences Classes Archive)

It has tons of links to pdf’s and homework for econ 11.

Really cool stuff. I will definitely be studying all summer just to be an ******* and raise the curve. LOL!

You should know the main things like supply and demand. It’s not a big deal though, because Intro to Micro you were just being tested on the definitions really. Econ 11 you’re gonna calculate problems out.

Know derivatives like the back of your hand.
