Pre econ UCLA

Hi guys, i have a question.

So i got admitted to UCLA as a pre econ major. I understand that we are technically not in the majot until we meet all the prereqs and stuff and have certain GPA's.

My question is. Since when we transfer are GPA's dont transfer and we start from zero with the UCLA GPA, Will are community college GPA still play a factor in getting into the econ major once we are at UCLA?

not at all, no factor. just get a good grade in econ 11 and 41 and you’re in the major at least a C or above i believe

Really? Im looking forward to that then. =)
Thanks

So econ 11 and 41 are taken there right. It cant be completed by AP exams or transfer work right?

You only need a 2.5 in all pre-reqs (3.0 for bus econ), and get no lower than C (no C-) in Econ 11 and 41. The first part about pre reqs, they actually factor in your CC grades, but it doesn’t really matter because you probably have high grades from CC anyways.

And no, Econ 11 and 41 you can’t fill in AP credits or anything. They make it specifically take it here because those are the weeder classes. As pre-Econ, you shouldn’t be too worried about the pre status or anything. It’s pretty unlikely you’ll fail those classes unless you’re just not putting in effort. The pressure is more for pre-bus econ transfers cause they need at least a B, and considering the classes are curved, they fight pretty fierce for top 20%.

Thanks Amazing, That diffenetly answers my question.

Ill make sure to own those weeder classes. =)

own it so the bus econ majors have to work for it also
