so, what do I need to complete before declaring a econ major? I am a transfer student. I put MCB as my major when I apply, but then I also want to pursuit a major in econ, will that affect my chance of getting into the major? How likely will I be able to double major in econ? I know that it is pretty though to get in this major, but is it worthy to take any econ classes in the first sem?
I already completed most of the lower division econ classes (beside statistic 20 or 21 or 25)

Econ is an impacted major so only a certain number of people are able to major in Econ at Berkeley. So, I'm not sure where you stand right now and someone else might be able to describe the process better than I can.

Can I switch to environmental econ policy if I get rejected? How different is the two major?

when do I know the result if I apply in the fall sem?
