Econ choices, Penn State or UM-TC?

Hi, friends on CC, I am an international transfer student. I have received two admissions from PSU & UM-TC, both in Economics major. I feel it a little bit hard to choose. You may feel it strange as these two colleges are not much alike, but I am desperate for your help.
I have to take these factors into consideration:

The rankings.
As tour is unavailable for me, so I can only consider the rankings and reviews from the Internet. PSU wins in the holistic ranking while UMN beats the former in the field of Econ or social science, and the econ department is soooo strong. As a junior majoring in economics, which should I focus?

The professors.
As 50+ credits may be transfered, I do not need to take many introductory classes. So should I consider the accessibility to professors? I have found that many courses in UM are taught directly by TA while in PSU it is different.

Student life.
Students in PSU may have more fun from parties and football matches. So what about students in UM? How they amuse themselves? I want to experience a typical American lifestyle so which one is more appropriate, a city or a college town?

Location.
I know PSU ranked No.1 in employers review last year, while for us international students hunting for a job is more difficult, so an urban location virtually means more internship opportunities, is that right? I want to gain some working experiences before I go back home.

The cost.
Tuition for PSU is $28.400/year, while for UM-TC is just $18000/year. Do you think PSU is worth another ten thousand dollars?

I know both are fabulous colleges while I hope with your help I can make a wise decision.
Thank you so much.

Go to UMinn.

Penn State has had “diversity” problems for years. UM-TC is a very fine school and is in a metro environment. UMinn is your choice over PSU in Econ. and campus life.

can you elaborate on the “diversity” problems part?

All the guys recommend UMN to me now, but you should do it a little earlier cause I have paied the deposit to Penn State.

I do not know is it a really bad choice. sigh…
I have some time to change it cause at 17th I will go to the visa appointment.

Please give me more advices! Thanks soooo much!

Most people at PSU love it. Not a bad choice at all. Just more college town than big city. But safer and prettier. Cold but not quite as cold. Better football. You’ll be fine.
