I'm right now in as an Econ major, hopefully Haas (not sure how likely that'll be). I got a 5 on the AP Calc BC exam but I don't like calculus.

I know I've got 1a, 1b and the quantitative reasoning requirements done, but is there a reason for me to continue with math 16A?

edit: so I found this on http://emlab.berkeley.edu/econ/ugrad/hb1.shtml?hb03
it's part of the list of prerequisites
[quote]
Math/Statistics (A-B series and Stat required) Math 1A or 16A (or equivalent) Math 1B or 16B (or equivalent)

Statistics 20, 21, 25 or any upper division statistics course

At least one math or stat prerequisite course must be taken at UC Berkeley

does that mean I can take Stats INSTEAD OF math? Am I even exempt from 1A/1B/16A/16B? I feel so dumb for being confused over just a handful of words.
