Econ transfer to UC Berkeley?

Hi, I’m currently at BCC right now and I want to transfer to Cal my junior year to major in Economics.

Last semester i attended Umass Amherst and I transferred to BCC this semester (I’m a freshman in my 2nd semester). I took Precalc last semester, but it proved to not be conducive at all for me in my current calculus class, and I have virtually no clue what material we’re currently learning (when it’s clear that i should’ve learned this last semester). I have to take 2 semesters of calculus before applying to transfer to Cal for economics, so I think I have 2 options:

Stick with calculus this semester and risk getting a B, then do the second semester of calculus next fall
or
Drop calculus (without a W), retake precalc this semester at BCC, and do 2 semesters of calculus next year.

Which would anyone recommend? Should I really retake precalc if I’ve taken it once already? I would probably get a better grade in it then I would calculus, which would help my GPA, but I also want to get my transfer pre-reqs out of the way as quick as possible. Is it the end of the world if I get a B in calculus and I’m really aiming to transfer to UCB? I want to increase my chances of getting accepted as much as I can.

Please help! Thanks!
