So I noticed on the Assist website that my CC has two different ways to articulate the math pre-req for the Econ major:

Take 1 class - Introductory Calculus for Business and Social Science or

Take a series of 4 classes - Calculus 1A, 1B, 1C, and 1D.

Option one would leave me to have to take one more Calulus class once I transferred, but two would not. However, I can see the benefits of taking option one since it would mean less classes (CC is on quarter terms) which would mean less time at the CC before I can transfer - eventhough major pre-reqs aren't required to transfer, just nice to have done them to boost chances.

So which would be preferred?

Thanks!

My recommendation is option 1 because business calculus is barely calculus lol its very easy sane thing with social science as for the calculus 1a b c d though you might take less class the classes get very difficult and it might hurt your gpa if you are planning to go to grad school
Good luck :)

So it’s best to take the Calc for Business because it may be easier and it’s less classes on my transcript which may help protect my GPA?

Ya gpa is a big factor if you are planning to transfer or go to grad school because it’s not like high school where they also look at the SAT though many schools might do a holistic review keeping a high gpa has sort of become a necessity because of so much competition

But what if I don’t plan to go to grad school? Will taking Calculus for Business instead of Calculus 1A, 1B, 1C, and 1D series keep me competitive for transfer, or does that not even matter?

Thanks!
