Econ transfer

I'm going to apply under economics for most, if not all UC's, and due to the budget cuts it is almost impossible to get a Calculus class. My school's calculus is divided into 180 and 181, and I'm having trouble getting into the 180 right now. My plan was to take 180 this fall, then 181 in the spring, and transfer next fall.

My question is, I know that LA and CAL pretty much don't even consider you if you don't have all major pre-reqs met, but what about the other UC's? If I have macro/micro econ, stats, and don't finish my first calc class until winter, or god forbid, spring, will it be a huge factor? I have TAP, if that matters.

You can get into all UCs besides Berkeley and LA as an Economics major without taking more than one Calc course. However, I would strongly recommend (especially if you already set yourself up for UCLA with TAP) using every resource possible to try to get into Calc 1 somewhere. I would recommend talking/emailing the teacher directly, as well as considering taking the course at another CC in the area.

Finish calculus. Calculus is a pre-req for intermediate econ which is usually taken during the junior year for econ majors at all UC’s. So even if you transfer you will have to finish calculus before taking it.
