Economical Prep Schools?

Hi everyone,

I am in 10th grade and am applying for 9th grade next year. This is due to the fact that I have skipped 3 grades and am looking to reverse some of my skips so I do not get to college early.

My parents and I decided that going to a boarding school would be a good way to do this. I currently go to my town’s public high school.

I am applying for elite schools like Exeter and Taft, however, due to my unique situation, I want to apply to other schools that are economical.

My parents said that I could go anywhere in the country, as long as it is economical.

I am looking for a boarding school that is economical, has a diverse student culture, modern facilities, and preferably warm weather like California and Florida (it’s pretty cold up here in the northeast).

I would like some user input on this topic. I do not have to go to this boarding school for four years considering I have 3 extra years at hand that would have to be reversed because of my skips.

Thanks.

And sorry if that response was poorly written…

What do you mean by economical? Are your parents paying full? Or will you need financial aid? If your parents are paying in full what is the max they are willing to pay?

To go to an elite school, I’ll have to get financial aid. My parents cannot pull 50k a year. They could pay 10k.

Prep schools can be very generous with financial aid to talented students, but you would be well-advised to apply to a wide range of schools. And you don’t have much time left for inquiring and interviewing, if you are applying for next year. You and your parents need to do some research and do it quickly. Good luck!

You will need 75% scholarship. This is considerable. Look at schools where your scores are above 75th percentile and above. Your chances of getting FA are musher higher at these schools
