So who else applied to EFL this summer, and to what sites?

I did. I applied Cornell, William and Mary, and Babson i think

I applied too! My first choice is Vanderbilt!!! I’m from Hawaii, I really hope I get in… Having to wait longer until Friday is killing me! Do you know how selective the program is?

Ichang I applied to the same 3 :D, but in a different order. I really wanted to put Cornell as my #1, but it’s like $300 more than Babson for some reason, so my parents made me put Babson > W&M > Cornell. Hawaiiholliday - from what I found from other threads, the acceptance rate is between 33% and 50%. Someone who attended the program in past years asked the people who run the program what the rate is, and they said “somewhere between 1 in every 2 or 3 people are accepted”.

ahh thanks so much! Well we shall see what happens. Of course it’s not the end of the world if we don’t get in, but it would be a great opportunity!!

I also applied to the same three! But i did Babson, Cornell, and then W&M. I live in upstate new york, so i tried applying to the closest sites. I was looking at the FTE website and about half the sites aren’t even filled yet, i don’t believe. I was like constantly checking my email on my phone monday and tuesday, waiting for the email. I can’t wait until the email on Friday!

Cool! I’m from CT so Babson is maybe 2-3 hours away, but Cornell is like 4 1/2 and W&M is like 7! I get to experience that 4 1/2 hr drive on Friday when I go visit, yay?

Oh nice! I live like halfway between Cornell and Babson, like an hour west of Albany… the car ride to Cornell is quite boring i must say:p I took a visit to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in November and the ride was hellish. By the way, did any of you attend HOBY?

No I didnt! What is the HOBY thing? Is it necessary in order to get into EFL? Also, I’m from Hawaii so if I get into the program I’ll be coming a long way… @Ahollister17 I was checking my email so often too getting worried (hahaha).

I attended HOBY (Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Camp), but it’s not necessary to go. I applied for UChicago as my first choice! :D

HOBY, in an overly simplified nutshell, is a youth leadership seminar for sophomores. There are state delgations, and they usually consist of one ambassador from each school in that area (some schools may not send ambassadors, however). And you don’t have to be a HOBY alumni to get acccepted to EFL! @Kneeridge my friend applied to UChicago first choice also!

I also put my first choice as Vanderbilt!!! UCLA as second & Santa Barbara as third
UCLA & SB are full though so I’m hoping for Vanderbilt!! well lets just say at this point I’ll be really happy getting accepted to any of them :))

Yes totally agree! OO where are you from and why Vanderbilt? Just curious :)

I applied to Vanderbilt as my #1 too! W&M was second and UColorado was third… but I really hope I get vanderbilt because it’s the only date I can do!

ooo where are you from?

northern virginia. I see you’re from hawaii, thats so cool! I hope we end up at vanderbilt together! Ahhhh I really want them to email us!

In at Babson!

I also got into Babson!!!

IN AT Cornell! great job guys

In at Vanderbilt! I can’t believe such a dream come true for me. I can’t wait to actually go there!!!
