economics - human resource job?

I am majoring in economics and am interested in heading towards a career in human resources. is economics the right path to go and will it actually get me anywhere with human resources? although my major is technically financial economics, i plan to take courses in:

labor economics
economics of organizations
financial accounting
managerial finance
advanced computer applications
monetary economics
financial economics

I don’t see why not. For that kind of job, major isn’t of utmost importance, and it’s more about your experience/how you can prove to them that you will be able to manage people straight out of college. I think econ is a great minor to have for any business degree as it applies to so many fields (obvious relations with finance/accounting, helps you understand consumer demands for marketing, inventory planning for supply chains, etc.), so if you get a high GPA, and maybe take a few extra quant classes to show them that you are smart, as well as internships, you’ll be set.

I’ve seen folks with all sorts of degrees work in HR. Management seems pretty popular, and I’m sure that Economics will be fine.
