Economics Major - human resources job?

I am majoring in economics and am interested in heading towards a career in human resources. is economics the right path to go and will it actually get me anywhere with human resources? although my major is technically financial economics, i plan to take courses in:

labor economics
economics of organizations
financial accounting
managerial finance
advanced computer applications
monetary economics
financial economics

Take a look at internship and entry-level job postings for careers in human resources. You’ll see a cluster of recommended majors – business administration, finance, accounting, economics, etc. Keep doing what you’re doing; pursue your degree in financial economics, keep a high gpa, and look for internships in human resources. That will put you in the best position to get started in HR.

Did you get in to HR with your Econ degree?
