Economics/Math-Accepted Student Questions

Hi,

If anyone has any info, preferably from a current student, how is the VSB econ major (Arts/Sciences is similar, so those econ students can also possibly help also)? I was accepted EA and will seriously consider going, but am unsure about how well econ is rated at this school. As a senior, I have just begun to notice my intense interest in math (a bit late, but better late then never) with AP Calc/Stat. While I will probably minor in math wherever I go, I still want to focus on Econ.

I want to eventually land an internship/job at the Fed bank in NY. How are the prospects? Do you feel the classes are challenging enough to prepare for a masters/doctoral program in Econ at other top schools? How is the econometrics class? Are most of the econ classes in VSB (please make the distinction if possible!) more theoretical based or application to business (just consider core Econ classes, such as prinicples micro/macro, econometrics, electives, etc).

Quick note: I come from an extremely competitive hs with lots of grade deflation:)LOL

One big question, econ specific: how are the professors? I noticed on some econ professors websites disparities in the way the intro classes were graded. Some professors seemed to be a bit easier in grading with respect to exams and hw assignments.

Just a general question, how would Rutgers Econ compare with VSB econ in terms of prestige, rigor, and job prospects?

On a final note, are the econ majors the typical nerdy student or just like any other VSB preppy type? As far as I can tell, econ/math type majors tend to be highly dedicated to their subjects and quite passionate. I want to find this wherever I end up attending.

Thanks for any info. This would be GREATLY appreciated; Villa is rising fast in rankings and prestige, but Econ is rarely mentioned. Sorry for the long post and multiple questions, but I could really use some help.
