I want become an investment banker or work in corporate finance. I know I will probably have to get an MBA later on, but right now my main focus is on my undergraduate major.

I noticed that private colleges tend to have Economics majors and NOT Business Administration/Finance/Accounting/etc. majors for undergrads.

What is best for becoming an investment banker or working with corporate finance?
A bachelors degree in Economics -OR- Finance? Why?
What is the difference?

On some Wall Street blogs that I read, they say that accounting majors are usually the best positioned. But of course, your ability to network, regardless of our major or school, is integral to landing a job in investment banking.

Of course, you should be aware that there are options beyond investment banking and corporate finance, you know…

Additionally, economics majors are most common because not all colleges and universities have an established business school.

Go to a school that you like, study what you like, and worry about the job later.
