I was wondering which major is more prestigious harder, and quantitative. Also which major would be better for I-Banking and Consulting.

If you are looking for the major that has more prestige and is harder, I would say
Economics. But if you are looking to go into I-Banking and consulting, I would assume finance IMO

Economics will be more rigorous mathematically than finance. However, it's unlikely you'll receive a significant marginal benefit from taking economics over finance. Moreover, at most schools you're better off majoring in finance than in economics to land jobs in high-level finance.

It depends. Some schools don't offer finance, so that would make economics the obvious choice. It will depend on which school you are attending. Take the one that is better at the school you go to.

Um, I think if you want that quantitative background, you should just take math classes. Econ classes and their quantitative depth depends on the school. It depends how much math is required. If you take math to supplement either, I think you will have the background you want.

They're closely related, I think. So if you find one of it hard, you can change as well.

Well, finance is a sub-focus within economics in the first place...
