EC's? What are you taking?

Wow, 60 hours?
We need 30 + 7 activities. Most of the kids involved in NHS are also members of Key Club and Trend. If they do community service , it can only count towards one of the clubs (and each one has a # of required hours). This is why private tutoring comes in handy, haha. :)

wait, if it's a class at school, it doesn't count as an ec?
At our school, yearbook and newspaper are classes, but I'd consider publications a huge part of my life and we have a lot of deadlines after school...
so would that count?

every couple of months we have another EC thread.

^^^That would count. Just as long as you don't only work on it during school hours, it's considered an ec (like if you stay after to complete layouts or package the newspaper).

Is it a big deal my school doesn't allow any clubs that "track" meaning:
No Mu Theta Alpha, Spanish Honors society, NHS, Beta etc.?

^ ehh i wouldn't think so...
my school doesn't have those clubs, and a lot of students still get into good schools
and I know others whose schools don't have them either, and they're fine too

Thanks! Yeah, its really fun and satisfying to work with people like that. Basically right now I'm preparing for a show in which I'll play either guitar or bass with a guy who used to sing a lot when he was younger. He checked into the program because he was beaten by three men who were robbing him and later lit him and his house on fire, which led to the amputation of his two arms (and later depression). It's SO great to see people like that enjoy themselves and have a great time, and I'm glad that I'm a part of it.

b-b-b-b-b-b-bump
xD
yeah

Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club) [10,11,12]
Sociedad Honoraria Espanola (Spanish Honor Society) [11,12]
Societe Honoraire Francaise (French Honor Society) [10,11,12]
National Science Honor Society/Science Club [10,11,12]
National Honor Society [10,11,12]
Volunteering at a Hospital [11,12]
Possibly Peer-tutoring [11,12?]
Bowling Team [11,12?]

This year, I'm kicking it up a notch from the previous years... which doesn't say much, huh? ; )

--The local symphony youth chorus. It's fantastic, and I love participating in it. We have a really hectic scheduled planned for this year; it should be great!

--Legislative debate, a.k.a. Student Congress. I like it well enough, but it's not my favorite.

--Quiz Bowl. Yay, varsity team this year! I'm hoping we can get back to our #1 position in the state this year.

--Possibly/probably joining the local robotics team, because that's just fun. Of course, if I do, my January/February are going to drown me.

--Internship at local research lab, working with genetics...

--Continuing to teach myself piano.

And that's about it. Oh, and NHS--we do nothing. I won't even bother listing it.

I'll be joining MUN, Amnesty International, and possibly Save Darfur if I have the time. This summer I have been volunteering at a local hospital and I think I might continue that next summer. Right now, a close friend and I are trying to publish a book with drawings created by young children living in poverty-stricken or war-torn regions across the world. I might be taking up karate this year...

Volunteering at the hospital (~70-80 hrs/semester)
Secretary in SGA
Treasurer in NHS
Starting a Debate team
Piano
part-time job
Teen Court
French Honor Society (if my school has one this year... they don't always have enough of the french students interested in it to bother)

So many of the same threads...

anyways, I have nothing - 0 EC's, too lazy.

unless you count orchestra which I use for GRADUATION requirements for fine arts and I only need that for another year.

shameless selfbump :D
