Who else here just absolutely feels like they're out of luck? I have NO extracurriculars because during 9th/10th grade no one really ever stressed them or even talked about them and now that I've considered all the colleges I'd love to get into (mainly art schools then ones like Williams and Duke), I feel like ... ARGH. I'm a junior and about to be a senior with no ECs or awards to write on application resumes. Anyone else on the same boat with me?

Yup.

No EC's here.

Almost of the same..I don't have anything special. I'm still a sophomore though. All I have is hon. society, founder of computer club and foreign language.

the problem with my school is that alot of the clubs are "hidden" meaning they don't even list most of them in the handbook with the other clubs.

i have mediocre EC's (its not exaggerating like other people here) but no awards. welcome to the club

Ya. I have ECs but nothing like "state winner of..." -.-;

Yeah, I'm the same. One year in two separate clubs each the first one changed into something else. No leadership. Just a member. No volunteer work either, but I'm hoping on starting a volunteer job this summer.

I got serious about college too late...

take this from someone with probably too many extra carriculars, try starting ur own club if ur school doesn't have much to offer. (ie. if u love art, start an art club @ ur school where kids get togather and work on art projects and take trips to art muesuems)

"I have NO extracurriculars because during 9th/10th grade no one really ever stressed them or even talked about them"

I completely agree. In my school, the guidance counselors never tell students about how much weight colleges put on ECs. It's very annoying.
