ED 1 and 2

Hey there! I’m just wondering what the difference is between early decision 1 and 2… please be specific

ED 2 is simply an ED period that comes after the normal decision time for the ED 1 period. It is used by some colleges to encourage applications from those who get rejected from other colleges during the ED 1 period (for example: Emory gets a number of applicants during its ED 2 period who have been rejected by ivies during the ED 1 period).

One just has an earlier deadline. And not all schools offer ed II. ED II just gives you a chance to hear back from more colleges (if you apply rolling or early action) before you decide to bind yourself to one.

Oh IC ... I have to take a few SAT2s so should I ED 2 to Boston University with two SAT2 scores or ED1 with one SAT2 score??

Any advantage of applying ED I versus ED II at schools like Emory or Vassar?

Is ED II binding?

ED 1= ED2, just at different dates, as techiedork stated. And ED 2 is binding, hence the name early decision.
