Accepted!! Yayyy
rejected
Any WOW students apply ED and get deferred?
@ARIVERA1 I was at wow and accepted, haven’t heard of anyone else
Did anyone else’s official letter say class of 2021 instead of 2022???
Yes. Everyone’s “golden ticket” letter was misprinted with 2021.Check your email; Williams sent a correction email.
What is this “golden ticket”? I got accepted to Williams through ED and I received an email saying they fixed it, but I never received anything. Is the golden ticket the official letter of acceptance?
It was a congratulations note that came in the mail. I just called it a golden ticket because it was on sparkly gold paper and getting into Williams kind of feels like winning one of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets!
As long as your portal has the acceptance letter in it, you are official, so do not worry. If you are international or otherwise the mail comes more slowly to you, it still might be coming. If you want it and it is not there by Friday, you could call them to ask.
Thank you so much! I just received the golden ticket in the mail this afternoon after I came home from school. I live all the way in Alabama so I guess it just took a bit longer for the mail to arrive.
Usually Williams has a news release in December announcing how many early decision applicants there were, how many were admitted, how many states are represented, etc. I have looked on their website and elsewhere but have not seen it— just a one line announcement that 258 applicants were admitted, with a picture of the admissions officers holding the golden envelopes. I can see the news release for 2021, put out the Monday after the decisions were announced last year, and many previous years, but not 2022.
Has anyone seen the early decision 2022 profile yet?
I have been on the look out for the same news release. The pattern has been consistent for the past 5 years that they release the admissions stats the Monday after ED admission decisions are provided. I have not even found the one line announcement on the number of applicants admitted.
On a separate note - looks like they sent out the Class of “2022” golden ticket letters.
@HPTD12 The photo and one-liner was a Dec 11 tweet. Look up “Williams College Early Decision 2022 twitter” and you will see it.
Yes, it is nice that they reissued the letters with the correct date!
@nillupa, that could be, although it’s hard to tell as of yet. One theory I’ve heard is that a lot of the strongest test-takers chose the ACT over the uncertainty of the new SAT, which could account for the drop in SAT scores compared to the old version.
This could be the case, also the ACT has gained some ground as the new SAT is more similar to the ACT than the old SAT.
hi! does anyone know whether those accepted early need to send in their midyear reports? the application portal only asks for your final grades, but i just want to be sure…
I believe for those accepted early there is no need to send a midyear report, your file is completed from an admissions point of view. Your school will send your final transcript at the end of year, that is all that is required at this point.
