ED Agreement Issue

Hi Everyone,

I know this topic came up SEVERAL times in the past on CC, but I think my situation is slightly different so I decided to gain some insight from here.

I completed my application for Wesleyan (EDII) back during Thanksgiving, and had my counselor send all the school forms, recommendations and other materials via Naviance eDocs. I was in my counselor's office when I saw her, with my own eyes, sign the Wesleyan EDII agreement via Naviance. The next day, the Common App stated that the form was "Downloaded by the college", along with everything else.

Looking at my WesCheck account, everything was received by Wesleyan except for my ED Statement. I contacted Wesleyan to see if this was a glitch on their part, and the admissions office said that the ED Statement is not in their database. I'm still waiting for a response from the Common App Support Team, and my counselor is not able to be reached due to winter break. My hunch is that this is a problem on Naviance's part; this issue is very perplexing, since as stated above, the counselor portion of the ED statement was "downloaded by the college", according to CA.

I shot myself in the foot, considering I'm panicking about this a WEEK before the deadline; my negligence and senior stress with classes unfortunately got the best of me. I guess this is one of those "last-minute horror stories". I'm calling their office January 2nd, when they reopen to explain my situation.

My question is, has anyone had issues with late forms in the past, and was Wesleyan lenient about it? Or are they strict?

I sent them an email because literally all of the stuff from my school they will be receiving from me (counselor rec, teacher recs, school data stuff, transcript) won’t be sent until the 2nd for RD. They responded today as someone might be checking email in the office and said it would be fine. I think they understand these things are out of your control. They might penalize you if the common app or something you could complete aren’t in on time but I don’t think they will care as long as you re-send it ASAP when school starts. Is there a way to print it off on the common app website and mail it in? Not sure but that could be an idea.

Okay, that’s good to hear. I had no idea they were still answering emails! I just sent them an email back.

I won’t be seeing my counselor again on the 7th, so if I get a physical signature from her then it should all be good (granted Wesleyan says it’s OK). Hopefully the Common App support team can solve this issue sooner.

Thank you for your reply! Good luck to you.
