ED applicants, what's your second choice?

seifo,

hmm... i guess i need to start balancing the universe. i'll keep that thought in my mind when i start juggling with these apps.

lol i think my list is SO top heavy... im kinda worried that if i get rejected by penn, i wont get in ANYWHERE and ill end up having to go to uc merced or something

2nd choice: nyu and boston college is close behind that. i love how i'm the only one who's mentioned those since i have no other ivies. haha. i really need to get started on all that though... one of my schools has a supplement due on the 15th and i just have no motivation to fill it out...

I really like Boston college and applied early action there, just so that I'd be getting their decision the same time I get the Penn one. It's definitely at the top of my list.

Yea i dont really have any other ivies either...the closest i get is tufts..and i may apply to duke...im applying to cooper union but i doubt id go there cause its too small..if I dont get into Penn I don't really have a second choice...it was never really something I thought about cause I'll probably just go to Rutgers since it basically costs nothing...hmy goal is to have them pay me to go

i never even thought of applying somewhere early along with ED. that was a good plan... i wish i'd done that. oh well. when do you hear from BC?

Re en Kam..i thought you couldnt apply EA to other places unless Penn said otherwise...did you have to get permission from them??

^i sort of thought that too. ..hmmm.

My other choices are:

UMich (really should've submitted my app already because it gets harder as time goes by, but I've been too busy, and I lacked the motivation to write another essay)
UChicago (the interviewer really gave me a great impression of the school)
Northwestern
USC (too bad Leinart and Bush will be gone if I go there)
NYU
Cornell (used to be my first choice until I met Penn)
Harvard (to please my dad, I think it's a waste of 65 bucks)
Stanford (my SATs alone will kill my chances here)
Syracuse
Boston University

Well, my GC told me that with Penn's ED I could apply EA where ever I want as long as I go to Penn if I get in. Harvard and Yale have the Single-Choice Early Action where you can only apply to the one school early. Now, if my GC was wrong about this I'm going to be really upset.......but that's what she told me. Do you think I'd get in trouble if that weren't true or would that be my school's fault?

And BC decisions come out sometime before the holiday season...that's what they said at least. I think it's supposed to be around the 15. I'm pretty sure it was last year.

I also applied to St. Joe's and Washington & Jefferson early as safties.....and my GC's the one who suggested that so I'm really hoping I was allowed to do it..........

Now I'm really worried.

I'm pretty sure that, apart from ED to Penn, you can apply EA to other schools as long as they are not SCEA (single-choice early action). I don't recall any of the schools you mentioned to be SCEA, so I think you'll be ok.

I should've apply early to chicago and done my Umich app sooner. I've been hanging onto Penn for too long, and I think that would be my downfall....

Okay, so I can stop freaking out now.........that was an intense moment for me

well good luck anyway. have you heard from any of the others?

Second Choice - Cal

After that: UCLA

After that: Wherever I get in

UMich, Harvard, Yale, CM, etc. I'm not really sure, they all look bland infront of UPenn

lamp: just W&J but I don't really want to go there anyway. they just happened to not have an application fee, haha

I am shocked that like only one or two CCers mentioned Yale. For the longest time I could not sleep because I was deciding between Penn and Yale. I picked Penn in the end and I am thrilled with my decision, but Yale also is so nice. Why don't any of you have it on your lists?

Rutgers, Boston College, Boston University, Columbia, Princeton (LOL-just for fun), UConn, Rhode Island, Colgate... I'm an international student, and am hoping to get in at least in BC... But of course the best would be to get in to UPenn <3

well.. that means i have to pick a favorite out of ten.... i think right now wesleyan, fordham, bu, udel, loyola are tied... then skidmore, american,bc,northeastern, uconn are all clumped into the "i really dont know" category

Michigan, Emory, Tufts, Cornell in no particular order! Already got into Penn State -University Park.
