ED Brown PLME? vs. other combined programs

Should I apply early to the Brown PLME or should I wait to potentially have a choice between others? Other combined programs I am applying to are Stony Brook, Rice/Baylor, and Sophie Davis, all of which I believe are cheaper than PLME.

Probably can't get into PLME anyway, but I want to make the right application decision because I THINK applying ED gives a sliiiight advantage...

Please help!

a slight edge prob wont make a difference in the long run. And if money is a concern, then dont apply, bc financial aid wont be good for ED students

I do not think there is an Early Decision per se in BS/MD programs. I called up a few colleges and asked admin officers and they said there is no ED. This is due to the fact that it is a lengthy process as it involves undergrad school process and Medical school process of your app and Interviews. Hence the selections will be notified during Feb/March.

The app submission dates for these programs are early anyway like Nov1/Nov15/Dec15 which make us believe ED but they are not.

Please correct me if I am wrong as I am also in the learning process of these excellent programs.

kyangies, My best wishes!

The best value by a huge margin is Rice/Baylor. Most R/B scholars receive large merit scholarships from Rice. Baylor College of Medicine costs a small fraction of the medical schools of the other top programs. The downside is that Rice/Baylor accepts only 12-14 students per year. Case Western is another good value. If accepted you will likely qualify for a Trustees scholarship, a merit program that picks up full tuition.

I’m so sorry I forgot to check this for replies! I eventually decided not to apply regular decision. And as for whether some programs have ED, I believe most don’t but Brown PLME has the option, and also the option to apply for PLME early but withdraw to the regular pool for Brown undergrad if not accepted to PLME.
