I applied to the Medill School of Journalism.

ACT: 36 composite
GPA: 5.0 nonweighted, 5.5 weighted (my school is on a 5 pt scale)
Current Classes: AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Environmental Science, AP Economics, Journalism
I have been in honors/AP classes since my freshman year and have scored a 5 on the Human Geography, World History, US History, and Language exams.

Current ECs
Editor of school paper
NHS member
Student council member
Part time job
Leadership council
Principal's advisory council

I am also a National Merit Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar. My English teacher told me my essays were strong, and I am confident that I have very positive letters of rec.

I think you stand an amazing chance! 36 on your ACT is outstanding! Do you do any volunteer work?

I would say you have a good chance! Good GPA, good ACT, good ECs but probably what will help you most is your essays. Good GPA, test scores, and extracurriculars aren’t uncommon amongst anybody who will be applying ED so you would need something to set you apart and hopefully your essays will do that for you!
