Anyone waiting on an ED decision? Are they still on schedule to mail them around Dec. 10th? Might it be a little sooner?

10th? is it coming out on the 10th?
wow! cant wait..

oh my. i just got my acceptance letter ED =) it's postmarked 12/7/07

Congratulations proud08er! My D will be there with you as well! Where are you that you got it that quickly? Hopefully D's packet will be in the mail today as well.

i live in MA .. maybe that's why it came so fast. thanks for the congrats!

Congratulations to proud08er!! That is awesome news! Sit back and be the object of jealousy among the other '08ers!

They had told D in e-mail that packet would be here by the 15th, so not expecting it yet.

Congratulations, proud08er. That's great news, and so early! I guess that means I'll get my thumbs up/down/sideways in the next few days then. I'm glad it's on the way. What did your envelope look like?

thanks. yeah i was totally surprised. it was a small envelope (and i was almost sure it was a deferral/rejection) so don't fret the big/small envelope thing. good luck!

Thanks for the envelope information. My best friend was accepted ED to a different school last year and her envelope was thin and normal looking too. Are you excited? My friend was excited at first but then after a few weeks she started having these feelings that ED wasn't a good idea and she wasn't sure she picked the right school. I kept telling her that it was going to be great and that she would love it there, and now that she's there it's turned out to be true. She is really happy and so glad to be there. She also needed financial aid (but applied ED anyway) and at first the financial aid award was really awful, but then her mom talked to the financial aid office and they made some changes in it and now it's okay for them. It all worked out great.

The result comes out so early??? I haven't received anything yet! Does that mean I'm rejected/deferred?

no....they mail the decisions, so the farther away you are from mass, the longer it will take. and even if you live close, mail service can be uneven. they sound out all decisions at the same time, so when you get the letter has nothing to do with the decision.

i'm an international applicant. the amherst site says that they'll email the decisions to us. i haven't received anything yet!! i'm so excited.. i check my email every 10 minutes..
congratulations to proud08er!
any other internationals?

Good luck to everyone awaiting those ED decisions. Amherst is a great school, but even if rejected there are many great schools that will be a terrific fit for you, so just keep those fingers crossed and know that no matter what, you will be happy where you are meant to be.

i didn't apply to amherst but two friends from my school both got their acceptance letters yesterday.

based in boston, so that probably makes a difference.

Good luck to all ED'ers!

hey mysterious!

yeah am an international applicant awaiting my decision.. any idea what time it comes out.. some of my other friends who applied ED to other colleges got a mail citing the time they would receive the decision..

hi sid3sg,
i didn't receive such an email.. i wish i did, i keep checking my email and still there's nothing!
good luck to all of us today. i hope i don't get a heart attack!

Oh wow, I couldn't sleep last night. I have another hour or so until the post office opens; congratulations to all who got in. It's pretty funny cause with a small school like Amherst there's a 100% chance that those who got in will meet each other soon enough.

hey mysterious!

the other colleges, the ones my friends applied ED to.. sent their decisions online at 5pm eastern time.. so that would be like 8 hours from now.. yikes!
