Any speculation (or informed guess - Dan?) as to whether ED decisions will be out before 12/15? I'm sure I'm not the only one to note that Tufts says we will receive a decision BY 12/15 which, of course, means "no later and maybe earlier." Yes, I admit that I'm getting a bit anxious as the days tick down so let me be clear - EARLIER IS BETTER :)

My guess is that Dan will tell you nothing more than what is stated on the Admissions web site.
Based on past history, ED decisions might be available a couple of days early. I don’t remember last year’s date, but in 2008 it was 12/12 (which was only 1 business day early, because the 15th was a Monday).

From a bit of snooping around here, I can see that Tufts released them on Dec. 11 last year… I’m totally in the same boat as you… I cannot wait to hear from them, even if the news is bad.

Anyone have any updated guesses or insider tips about when we might hear about ED this year? We’re thinking the most likely day would be Monday, 13th… a week from today.

i feel that it will be this friday, the 10th because it was a friday last year and the year before. Thoughts?

We have some thought that it might be Friday, too, since Monday would be late to count on mail reaching the west coast. I actually called admissions and asked… they said “an email will be sent as soon as the decisions are available… by the 15th.”

any knowledge of the ED pool? is it very competitive this year?
i hope we find out on friday!

I’m freaking out guys! To think that it could be either this Friday, or sometime by the early to middle of next week… aggh!

Trouble is that I’m almost certain it will be a “no”… not trying to hijack this conversation, but what are you guys’ plans if this doesn’t work out? I’m still trying to solidfy my other options/applications, and I would love to know which other schools you guys are applying to.

And OF COURSE, I would like to find out when they are announcing ED acceptances/denials, so keep that up, if you hear anything new!

I would guess that you will hear back on the 13th.

i’m hoping its sooon! I can’t wait any longer- i’ve literally been on edge for the past week- nerves making me sick

& college1992, i basically have only written this app and will prob freak out if i dont get in, but have a whole list of other schools with the supplements kinda started and figured out, just havent been able to force myself to write anything until i knew for sure :/

Not sure if you saw the blog from Dan the Admissions director

[The Tufts Committee ? Get the a glimpse at the life of the admissions officers at Tufts](http://tuftsblogs.com/thecommittee/)

They finished committee on Dec 3!

Yes, I saw that blog! Very nerve-wracking to read, actually! Amazing that they’re done, though I guess they also have to put together their financial offers too, right?

Hmmm. Dan posted in the comments on the blog that “ED doesnt take that long a little more than two days, but two very full days.” D1 hasn’t mentioned reading this. I am not going to mention it to her. It’s one thing to be waiting if you know that they’re still making decisions. Waiting when you know that it’s all done is an entirely different type of torture. It’s like Schrodinger’s Cat, except that the cat had better odds (50-50). Admittedly, the Cat was facing much larger stakes. :)

whackadoodle, maybe the admissions decisions go live first, with FA packages following by snail mail?

I’m thinking it’s going to come out this friday as it has come out the friday before the 15th for the past two years. Plus, there are a bunch of schools that usually come out that day. I really hope it does…

True about the last two years, but the 15th was on a Monday, then Tuesday. Wednesday this year could make a difference…

Just because the ED committee is over doesn’t mean there still isn’t work to be done shaping the class and getting things ready. It would be a bad idea (I think) to roll through committee and then release decisions as soon as we finish without being able to look bad at the decisions we made and make sure that nothing slipped through the cracks. Of course, you guys want to know what’s happening with your (or your children’s applications). However, I know you recognize that rushing through something this important would be poor stewardship on our part.

Of course! We know that’s not the whole process. Just trying to read the tea leaves. Any update about when mail goes out/email notification happens? Thanks!

TOTALLY agree with Dan (in his blog) about HIMYM and, in particular, NPH—he’s positively spell-binding.

and I think you’ll all hear on Friday—good luck!

All I can say is that I really hope it comes out tomorrow. Wednesday would really suck as I have a million other things to do/study for that night that I might not get done once I receive my rejection letter…

I agree with Ajax… wednesday is in the middle of exams, and when I get denied, there’s no way I’ll be studying that night-- and Physics is the next morning, followed by French on Friday morning. Great!

And yes, even though we’re all anxious to hear about our decisions, I’m glad they’re taking their time. They do us all a much better service by taking their time and getting it right, than if they were to rush it out.
