anyone? esp. about deposit confirmation (i know DCH did), dorms, etc. etc.?

I have gotten one letter that told me I would find out more in Feb, and then I got a 2nd letter that said, "while it is fine and only natural to pause brifly to pat yourself on the back, we expect that you will maintain for the rest of or senior year the course schedule and the grades that you presented in your application for admission. Just keep up the good work!"

i believe we get our housing forms this month :)

today is the 13th....they better chop chop :) i want dibs on the good dorms

Ya, I just got that "pat on the back" letter. I called them up today asking if we had to send any mid year reports and they said no.

I hope we get housing soon, I'm pretty pumped.

What in the world!!

I live in JPN, but I havent received anything!!!! Any international kids out there who are in similar situation?

Folks: what does the letter about keeping the grades say in more detail?

I quote from the letter:

"Over the next several months you'll hear from a number of offices around the University, and my office will keep you up to date on admissions and financial aid matters. In the meantime, I want to encourage you to continue to maintain your attention to your studies that you have demonstrated to date. While it is fine and only natural to pause briefly to pat yourself on the back, we expect that you will maintain for the rest of your senior year the course schedule and the grades that you presented in your application for admission. Just keep up the good work!"

Basically, what I'm inferring is that as long as your grades don't dip too much you should be fine. So I bet if you still maintain at least a B+ or so average, you'll be fine. And besides, you don't have to send in mid year reports so they must be pretty lenient on it.

Thanks dude. Where are you from?

Lets keep each other updated on stuff we receive from NYU.

I'm from Texas, I agree, we should all keep each other updated on new stuff in case anyone of us are wondering. :)

wth, i didnt noe that NYU admnistration is this bad.

I called their office about my concern regarding the letters not coming, and the transferred me to 15454654 people! (none of them even knew the answer....they were like "oh it shud be coming")

i also heard that housing stuff will be comong way later, like march/april. i love NYU, but just cant love the admnistration.

ahh i don't want to wait till march/april. They told us that housing would come out in feb. they should give it out in feb.

Don't be so impatient. Even if you get the form where you indicate your list of housing priorities soon, you won't get your housing assignment or roommate info til August. There's no rush.

Oh they pushed housing stuff by until March/April? Sweet deal I suppose, I was going to go up to NYC and visit around. I guess I don't to worry that it ain't coming in February.

they didn't push the housing stuff till April. We should be receiving the forms soon, but we will find out about our housing assignmen and roomate in August.

how do u noe? i even called the adcom...

I'm in TX and i JUST recieved the "Happiness is..." letter two days ago.

That's strange, I live in Texas too (Dallas/Richardson area). At this rate when people are getting things apart by a couple of weeks I suppose we probably won't hear about housing until March or so.

lindseylegs: what is that letter more about?

LimeButterfly: u live in Richardson? hah. I vist Dallas, TX every year and I stay in Plano. Been to Richardson on many occassions. Interesting..

Any internationals who have received stuff? None of the adcom seems to have a clue about this letter issue..

jhpark - the letter is the same one everyone's currently getting. It just tells us about congratulations about getting in and not to let your grades dip too much. I posted a chunk of the paragraph earlier in the thread, and it also says that we'll be hearing more from various offices around campus in the coming months.

Yea, I live right by you (sorta)...in Rockwall.

jhpark: "lindseylegs"?? haha

my bad....i almost ended up attending Plano senior HS, but ended up staying in JPN.
