I am blown away by the fact that since I was accepted in december, I have only received ONE piece of mail from NYU acknowledging my accceptance (the "keep up the good work letter or else....")

I called months ago and they said the next piece of mail going out will be in March for the log-on info and dorm choice application.

Anybody get this yet? I am paranoid that if I miss something there goes a HUGE benefit of applying early. It's no small feat getting through to NYU to ask a question, and with the frenzy these "likely" letters are creating...I bet it's just gotten a lot worse.

Figured I turn to my oh-so-up-to-date friends on CC...anyone?

I've activated my e-mail, but I haven't gotten the housing info yet either. I too am worried that I'll get stuck in a dorm I don't want to be in, due to lost mail or otherwise. Remember all of those poor people who got rejected, but didn't get a single piece of mail? NYU doesn't seem to have the best track record when it comes to mail. I called and talked to an actual human who said that they haven't yet mailed the housing information. I'd keep an eye out for it and maybe try calling again? Hope I helped!

My D went through this last year as an ED. Just be patient. We also heard nothing for a long time. Everything you must do you can find online at "ALBERT". Once you get your student ID and sign on you will have the answers to all your questions. There are special Dorms just for freshmen and ED get first choice before RD so believe me you will get the dorm you want. If I recall, you couldn't sign on to ALBERT until the beginning of April, when all the RDs got there acceptances. We were told March, but it didn't happen.

lmaty - thanks so much for shedding some much needed light from an experienced parent perspective :).

My D spoke to a nice person in Housing (she had spoken to someone else a few weeks ago, who told her that RD & ED were treated completely equal and so she started to freak out), and I understand that housing forms will go out the end of March. My guess is that some of the related forms may be available online around that time too.

So does this mean that you apply for housing online on Albert then, and not using NYUHome with your NetID, or, even by mail?

Relax. NYU likes to do just about everything online (especially if you're Stern, but things like housing forms are all online, as lmaty said). If they do send out something on paper, you can usually find it online as well, and I actually never received a paper housing form last year (though I was RD).

It took me forever, but I got my net account at NYU set up yesterday (I went there this past summer and since they assigned me the same account # and NYU #, my password had expired and I couldn't remember the assinine answer I must have input last May...my favorite Historical figure????) Another poster had already set up there account online, but I never got the letter they said that they'd send with that info (then again, I didn't need it)

Nonetheless, there was a link for housing forms, but it was not functioning. I guess I'll keep trying every so often, let's keep each other posted so none of us miss anything.

Salem1 my S had the same problem with not knowing his answer to the security question also which he knew was right..where was your father born? lol so there was a number to call and we fixed that problem. So don't feel like you forgot the answer it was a problem with their system i am sure!! Where did you see teh link to the housing form? :)

nyu parent I think it was under like the "student life" tab, probably for current students chosing for nest year and the process expired. As far as I could see there was no "incoming or New students" tab...I'm betting there will be.

I changed my security question to the "father's birthplace" it was the least subjective of all of them. Favorite movie, band, literary figure...that stuff changes depending on the month, my mood, and what I've just seen/read!!! No doubt it's not uncommon
