ED for WCAS + Chance me...?

Hello, I am an Asian international student who EDed for Northwestern WCAS.
I personally sent an e-mail to international admissions officer at NU, and asked about each school's acceptance rate and whether the rates differ or not. He of course replied and said it does not differ, and NU distributes the students somewhat equally. However, I have heard from the students in NU and they all told me that clearly Medill and McCormick accpetance rates are clearly and slightly higher than that of WCAS respectively.

Last year's ED acceptance rate was about 33%... and I figure, due to HYPS's single choice early action admissions, the rate for NU's admission this year would be slightly higher. Then it makes it about 35% to 37%ish? (or lower I guess...) And I heard that the acceptance rate for Medill's around 10% to 15% even for early decision... So I speculate that to get that high overall acceptance rate there must be compensations from WCAS or other schools. I totally have no offense for WCAS, and plus this is what I heard from the students there so... In fact, I applied to WCAS. That's why I'm asking this question anyway... :P SO, for early decision, WCAS acceptance rate would be at some point slightly higher than those of other undergraduate schools... right???

OH I AM SOOOO OBSESSED with numbers and I know I shoulden't be, but typical Korean numberplays you know...

How are my chances for ED to WCAS?

You’ve got a pretty good chance. Obviously nobody here can actually guess, but you’ve got good stats and EC’s. One point I’d like to make, though, is that you don’t really know how good your essays and recs are. Only truly amazing essays/recs will make much of a difference.

Hi, I was accepted through regular decision last year.

I think you have a pretty good chance and will hopefuly get in!
I’m a Korean international too, and for regular decision, almost everyone had 2300+ SATs and many with reading 800. For ED, medill and mc cormick are definitely more difficult to get in - but you can switch around schools at your will so you can get in as a WCAS student and move to different schools. Many people move from WCAS to medill, mc cormick, school of com, and vice versa.
Hope you had solid essays cuz essays will prob be the decicive factor. Personally, I did really well on the interview and I think that is what brought me here lol
Anyways, good luck!

Ohhh It’s so cool to see a Korean international in here lol
Thank you… I think my essays were over the average… I think :stuck_out_tongue:
Which school did you go to?

i go wcas :p
