Please post when you get your letter. Thanks!
On twitter they said they will be mailed out but in some case students receive phone calls.
i hope its mailed this week
Waiting for this decision is the most stressful thing I’ve ever experienced omggg
same omg i feel like it’s worse bc they don’t give us an exact date when we’ll get it but we get “by december 23rd” idk my mom brought up a good point: if they do send them next week, wouldn’t that be a lil risky bc people would be going on vacation?
they really don’t care if your going on vacation. They will send them out when they are done, which of course I hope is very soon
question- if you get rejected, do they send you a rejection letter or is it via email?

Just saw this on their twitter. I would continue to look for updates on it. It seems like the most active form of communication, and they will probably announce when decisions will be sent out.
What do you guys want to major in? I want to do International Affairs
I’m so nervous for results.
I didn’t have the best GPA or SAT score but I really do want to attend American University.
I actually failed courses but retook them all my junior year!
I managed to get a 3.5 GPA by the end of Junior year and got a 1180 on the new SAT.
Do you think I have a chance of getting in?
Any feedback will be helpful for me!
American is my top choice and I would really like to attend.
I’ve been volunteering for years (800+ hours)
hey guys i checked my css profile and clicked on acknowledgement and it says our ed award date is “12-20-2016” this can mean that they mail it out on this date or maybe theyll mail it friday or monday and we get it on this tuesday
Yes, person with the 3.5 GPA, you do have a good chance. I’d say it will come down to the quality of your essay.
Just asked a rep, and they said decisions WILL be sent out December 20th. Going to arrive just in time for Christmas :////
My son got in two years ago with a 3.3 GPA. He had a solid SAT score and a great essay. He applied ED1 and heard right before Christmas. Applying ED is the best way to get into American University.
Thank you for the feedback!
It definitely helps to know that I’m not expecting just a rejection letter and that I have a chance!
This is the first year AU announced their ED acceptance rate (85%), so my logic is that more people applied ED than normal, which may make the rate go down a little bit >:P
@p1235973 how’d you find that out?
The ED rate? I talked about it in my interview with assistant director of admissions. I know last year’s rate was 85% for a fact, but I fear it will go down this year. I could be wrong, but I thought that information was public. I thought if more people knew about it, more would apply, and AU Admissions would be faced with a larger pool of applicants, and, in turn, denying more.
Ahh thanks. I saw that it was 89% last year
