I applied ED 2 as well! I know they say we’ll be noticed by February 15 but does anyone know if they come earlier than that from previous years. I’m curious because ED 1 received their letters this week when they were said to be received by Dec 31.
Yes so I called and asked, and the ed2 dates are early as well. Instead of mailing them out on the 15th, they are mailing them out on Febuary 11th, so it’s a few days early!
Don’t know about significantly, but pretty sure most would agree there is generally less applicants ed 2, although the splits aren’t drastically different.
also an ED 2 applicant, does AU consider your major when making admission decision? on the common app it said to pick whatever major you want because they dont consider your choice in admission, but that doesn’t seem right
when i visited the school and sat through their info session, they stressed that it was easy for students to switch majors bc AU admits students who would be successful in all areas/schools within AU. So yeah having a major is an option, but in the end they primarily look at you as an overall student.
On common app I think it says that your major choice won’t be the “basis” of your decision, so I think although not a defining/major factor, something like poli sci or international relations is more competitive
I went back and read Twitter AU thread from when they announced they were mailing the ED1 notifications. There was some question and answering happening there that made it very clear how this would roll out. What they said in that thread from December 18… First - admission decisions would NOT be on the Portal, they would only come in the mail. Second, they said that being able to create an account, or not create one, was NOT indicative of being accepted or not. So based on that, I am really hopeful they get mailed today. We’re in California, so will take 4-5 days for USPS anyway. Good luck all!
