ED II % admitted

does anyone know the % of kids that get in ED to Vassar, on avg? (or at least the # of ppl who apply ED... particularly EDII?

Er, and does anyone know the percentage of kids who get deferred who end up getting in? Thanks. :)

ha, ocra, i cant answer your question, but i do think its funny (well maybe not funny, but interesting at least) that we both got rejected from cornell and are now lurking on the vassar board. vassar looks pretty awesome...

holy crap holden, what is the deal here? ok we have the same sat score as well and we both want to move to an island AWAY from all of this lol maybe we should.

haha, ya that is crazy. im down for the island idea... sure would beat all this college nonsense...

Hey, I found some random admissions statistics online...I'm not sure how accurate they are or anything, or whether they refer to EDI or II, but...

Number of completed 1st full-time early decision applications received: 562
Number of early decision applicants admitted: 247

Vassar: 6314 applications; 1768 acceptances, 28%.
Of the acceptances, 262 were ED, 1506 were RD.

Still nothing on ED2 or deferrals!

i dont know what percent of EDs or EDIIs get in buuuttt,
at the vassar tour, the speaker mentioned that applying ED I or II increases your chances of getting in by about 12-15%.
so there's a small plus...

ahh yeah that's what i suspected. i wonder if they were just saying that because ED applicants benefit the school greatly. either way, sounds good to me, thanks :)

i think the original question meant what % of ED applicants are admitted but this is also a positive statistic. from the prospective student FAQs:

"Vassar typically fills about 35-40% of its freshman class through both rounds of Early Decision."

ah so that means that only about 240 or so people are admitted ED... that's not a lot... gulp, i wonder how many people are applying ED... well, probably about 600? maybe less? hopefully less? well, those numbers seem to be true to seole's original data. ok i need to stop with the math calculations and chill out, i know, i know. aieeee.

Hey guys, anybody knows the most probable date that ED II decisions will come out? On the web site they just say late January. How late is late? We'll get the decision by Feb 1 for sure right?

I got mine like the 17th-ish. Like before the 24th of jan i knew. then i had to wait on finacial aid to make sure i could also AFFORD to go, that took a bit longer, like early/mid february.

omg 17th is TODAY! that means that we'll be finding out sooner than i thought possibly...... AHHHHH!!! archit, did you live close to vassar so that it came very quickly maybe??

um, well actually i lived in venezuela. i was told by email. i didn't get the OFFICIAL paper version until like early march/late february cuz the mail service to venezuela sucked.

orca - any word? im routin for ya

thanks, holden. nope, no word yet. i'll let you know. :) man, im so paranoid. it's all i think about.

Ditto that, seriously. I feel absolutely ill.

hey guys! I also applied ED II and am anxiously awaiting the results...it could be anytime now!!
