can someone explain this concept to me??? i am SO confused, so if I applied ED somewhere I can still applying for a second Early somewhere else...?

only if the schools offer it. its just like ed1 but later deadline and you can ONLY do it if u already recieved ur rejection letter from the other school im pretty sure. some schools are emory and washustlouis not sure of others.

ED II is, generally, for people who (a) did not decide soon enough to apply ED to their first choice school, Or (b) as a way to gain a boost at the ED II school, if the applicant is defered or rejected during ED/SCEA round at their first choice school.

Like ED/SCEA programs, if you do get into a school ED II, you must attend--even if, during the RD round, the ED school that may have defered you to the RD pool accepts you in April. As with ED, if financial aid is a concern, weigh the pros and cons before deciding.

Hope this answers your questions. Good luck on your search. :)

To clarify what Blaine said: If you apply EDI, get deferred, then apply EDII (typically by Jan 1)and are then accepted to the EDII school, you must withdraw all other applications (you would have submitted all your apps by this time, Feb1), including the still pending deferral.

Yep. Cangel is right. You would need to withdraw your pending apps at RD schools, if you get accepted ED II at another school. :)

Mahalo Nui Loa.

PS--As of late, my thoughts have been a bit more jumbbled (lack of sleep) and a bit more emotional (getting a little cranky, especially with Canuckeh & Gamingurux). I blame the application process, but it has more to do with worryinging about the college choices I made. Just goes to show you that even someone out of high school can sometimes let the process affect sleep patters (and the like), although I'm sure parents have it a bit worse.
