Applied ED with no dorm news?

Seems like the housing assignments are taking the same crazy non-logical paths that the acceptance letters did...none at all?

I was accepted ED, sent in the $1000 housing depoit within 48 hours, signed up for housing online March 22 for preference, and unlike many posted here I have an empty "Current activity" under bursar account. It actually reads:

"There are not any new transactions since your last bill. To see your account detail, submit a request for your Last Bill."

Last week it had an "estimated dorm fee of "$6085" that's still listed as estimated on my account summary.

Since it seems like a lot of EDers have been able to find their assignment online, I called housing. They acknowledged that some kids do have a dorm name listed on their Bursar activity page, but "it was not permanant and can change" Now I take that with a grain of salt and assume if kids got dorms that they actually requested and are ED, it's most likely their assignment and they're just going through the process.

ANybody else out there applied ED and send everything in UBER early and NOT heard? What's the process, do you think they just grab the stuff off a stack, or do the more popular dorms have a nice fair lottery (HAH)

Other than my acceptance which seemed to come with the majority (HOORAY) it seems I've been late to get just about any important communication. The orientaion stuff came WEEKS after others received it.

Thank God for everyone at CC, updating on the latest forms, bills and mailings or I'd be severly bummed

I'm a fellow ED'er too and also turned my stuff in early (well sorta early I live all the way in CA) and my current activity is blank. My last bill has an estimated housing charge but no dorm name. I guess we are in the same boat?

Hey Believ...what's your estimated dorm charge and what was your first choice? I picked Hayden (me an 95% of my Early decision classmates) followed by U-Hall and 3rd North. I'd be plenty happy with U hall. I wonder if there's a corelation between the estimated charges posted now and our different top choices (following me?) ANyone know they have a Hayden double? and if so what was your estimated amount?

Same goes for the aprtment style freshman dorms...anyone's help is appreciated

Unless you're in Explorations, you won't find out your dorm assignment until August 1st. That goes for both RD and ED. Some people may find out sooner, but it's not guaranteed until August 1st.

salem-my daughter's bursar account says Housing-University Hall $6425.00

yeah today mine got updated to 3rd north... but apparently it means nothing... I just wanted to say "WTH"

im ed, and i just got my first choice rubin today.

Just checked (at end of alphabet) ED got into Hayden charge is $5745 so it looks like a double.

My son just got his first choice, Hayden... he was ED also

My bursar acc't activity just changed from est. charge to "3rd North $6,485." I'm RD and 3N was my 1st choice.

WOWWW ok first my bill read a charge of $6,085.00 and now it says I have a charge of $4,125 for Hayden (first choice)....but its a triple?!!. I thought ED had first dibs on choice; I didn't think I'd get demoted to a triple. Are these final?

Salem: LOL my 2nd was also Uhall and my third was also 3rd North

Believ, that woulf S*ck, but the guy who posted on the other dorm placement thread is paying $4125 and it said "Hayden triple" . I thought there was a shortage of lowcost triples? Why would they assign them to people who don't want them??? It's obvious we're putting more thought into this than they are.
Three kinda positive notes (I know who wants to hear them when you wanna panic and vent?)

1) It's still by far the most popular dorm most RDers would rather be in a cra*ppy room in Hayden than Goddard

2) See my other post on the other dorm thread...THEY have 5 people units at Hayden (3 in one 2 in the other room) that have 5 people on one bath and very little closet space or square footage FOR THE PRICE OF A DOUBLE WITH TWO ON A BATH.

3) the girl I spoke to on the phone said these were only temperary placements. I don't believe that so much, but I bet if they go through the pile they might very well replace you with a kid requesting a triple.

Aw thanks Salem :); thanks for your input on the 5people situation it really helped. I can deal with a triple, but I'm still hoping for a double. I wonder why there is such high demand for triples, most people avoid them.

they cost less Believ...don't tell your folks (if they're paying the bills) and take the $3000 and go to H & M and Cabo for Spring Break

BAHAHA sounds tempting;). After reading that trench coat thread maybe I'll stop by H&M or Banana Rep. So since my triple costs less than the others does that mean mine is 3 to a room rather than the 5 person one?
