ED/October SAT..scores in on time?

I am applying to Virginia Tech and I could not find on their website whether or not they accept the October SAT for Early Decision applicants since the deadline is Nov 1 and CB wont mail scores til Oct 30. Should I call or just use the 7$ system on CB to send my scores now?
FYI...my other 2 scores werent so hot. 760 V/ 490 M and 720 V/ 470 M. Obviously no future engineering major lol

A lot of ED schools accept the October SATs. In fact, a lot of them accept the november SATs. I wouldn't stress, the results will be there within one or two days of the november 1st deadline.

I was told last year at Harvard's info meeting in Minnesota that October SAT scores are definitely timely for early action at Harvard, and that is what I am hearing from other schools this year. I was at U of VA's local meeting, but don't recall that particular point being addressed--but the point not being addressed suggests that October is timely. For many schools, November scores are timely for early action or early decision, even though they arrive after the theoretical deadline, because they arrive before the admission decisions are made.

Good luck.
