Ed

My essays, recommendations, grades, SAT II scores, and EC's are all great and I'm Spanish URM (although my name isnt Spanish). However, my SAT scores are really low. The scores Cornell has are 660M and 700CR, but I just sent my 670M and 720CR from November today, even though it is likely too late to be reviewed for ED. I know Cornell views things very holistically and I'm probably just nervous because the notification date is coming up soon, but based on people you know, would I stand a good chance for CAS?

Another "hook" that my interviewer said I had was that I'm really good at foreign languages and my EC's and Cornell essay made that stand out.

Thank you.

Bump! I know at least one of the 440+ people must have at least a vague idea!

your SAT scores are a bit low, but your essays, recs, and GPA should help you out. your status as a minority may help a bit as well. Cornell is a high reach for everybody, but you look like you’ve got a chance of getting in. good luck!

Yes, you have a good chance if your grades really are great + URM.

my W GPA is something like 4.68, I’ve gotten straight A’s thusfar this year, and I’m ranked 5/500ish (+/-20 because there’re a lot of military families where I live).

Your SAT isn’t so low that it dramatically hurts your chances. Is it helping your application? Not really, but if everything else you’ve said is true, I’d be surprised if you were rejected.
